Today we’re going to be looking at “Rainbow Falls Rescue”, a really cute, really sweet hide-and-seek game from Enchanted Trails.
Note: Usually I have pics of gameplay but as we have argely played this with other kids I have not included photos of our kids going around our house.
As you can see, this is a very simple game. In the box, you get a bag, some gems, and a load of clue cards. These cards give you hints such as:
“Step by step with happy cheer, could a gem be hiding near?” alongside a picture of some stairs, or “I’m a drawer where socks like to stay, could a special gem be tucked away?”
What you’re essentially doing is using these cards to create a treasure hunt around your house, with the gems hidden in different locations. Alongside the normal clue cards, there are also action cards mixed into the deck that give you extra challenges to complete just to mix things up a bit. Henry and his friend Alice really enjoyed these. Some of the actions include things like running on the spot as fast as you can, or miming something that will supposedly take you to the next clue super fast.
There really isn’t a lot more to it than that, but honestly, it’s a really nice little box. It’s also something I’ve not seen all that often. With very little effort, you can create a really engaging treasure hunt around your house in five minutes, tops. If you set it up properly, it can keep children entertained for a decent amount of time and provide loads of fun. Obviously, you don’t have to use it just as a general treasure hunt either. It would also work brilliantly as the basis for an Easter egg hunt once that season rolls around again.
The box is a decent size and everything feels nice and sturdy. The cards are made from good-quality materials, the bag is soft and velvety, and the gems are also of a good quality. Overall, it all feels like a well-made product.
“Rainbow Falls Rescue” by Enchanted Trails is absolutely delightful and, if you’re looking for this sort of thing, I really can’t recommend it enough.
