Today is going to be a relatively quick one, as we are going to be looking at “Minecraft: Cave Adventure”, a solo logic-based puzzle game from ThinkFun, published by Ravensburger under the Minecraft licence.
Ravensburger have done a fantastic job over the last few years with a variety of Minecraft products, and there are even more coming out this year that I’m hoping to check out either at or shortly after the UK Games Expo 2026. This is a solo puzzle game that arrived on our doorstep a little while ago, and both Jack and Toby had a really good time trying to solve the puzzles.

The game is really simple. You set out the track based on the challenge shown in the booklet and, from there, you have to use a number of different commands to guide Steve through the cave and safely to the end.
It’s a really simple concept, but what this game actually does is encourage and teach basic programming skills in a way that works really well. The whole thing is visually appealing and very well presented, and the difficulty ramps up nicely, starting relatively easy before becoming much more complex as the game goes on.

Games like this have been around for absolutely ages, but this one really stands out thanks to its clever use of the licence, how visually polished everything is, and the variety of things you can do within the puzzles. It also just looks cool having everything laid out, planned, and executed on the table.
If your child is into Minecraft and you are looking for this kind of logic-based programming puzzle game, then this is a really good suggestion.
A copy was kindly provided to me by Ravensburger. I have not been paid for this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.
