Summer Games Fest 2026

Later on today marks the start of Summer Games Fest 2026 — As usual, I am going to attempt to do one review a day throughout July and August, but there may be some gaps here and there this year as I am due to have hand surgery for trigger finger, which will likely put me out of action for a bit btu am hoping if I plan ahead and space things out it shouldn’t impact things to much (assuming the surgery goes ok).

My plan also, on some days, is rather than have a review, to have features on “the best games” from specific genres, which is something that has been repeatedly requested over the last few months.

We’ve got a packed schedule lined up, with something for everyone: games for young children, family favourites, titles for older kids, quirky indie gems, unreleased previews, East Asian imports, and we are going to revisit some of our very early reviews and update them to modern standards.

This is our fifth year running the Fest, and we hope you’ll enjoy following along and discovering some new board game inspiration.
