My Kickstarter arrived for Restless Spirits, and I think it’s a good kid friendly game! There’s some reading, and some strategy to it, so probably one for slightly older kids.
I came across this one at our local art trail, as the designers live near me and was super impressed by the concept art and the mockup up they were showing off. The idea is you’re a spirit guide, trying to guide spirits back to the spirit realms. The art and production is GORGEOUS, and if you or your kids are into Studio Ghibli, they’ll probably like it! You may have seen them at UK Games expo and various other games events too!

Gameplay is pretty simple, you attract spirits to your board, which grant you abilities, and then you try and find totem cards with the three symbols matching the ones on the spirit card. Once you have them all, you return the spirit to the spirit realm, and lose its abilities.
Depending on if it’s a light or dark spirit, you get a blessing or curse card that you can use to help yourself/hinder your enemies.
The number of spirits you need to send home to win depends on the number of players. Turns are fast and simple and the game cracks along at a nice pace.

It’s got lots of replay value too, as there are plenty of spirits, and there’s even a cool story mode mechanic where you pick a story card, which has some corresponding story lore in a booklet, that changes the rules of the game, and the player boards have an alternate side with a different set of abilities. There’s also a solo mode too.
We played it with some friends, and they loved it, we’re going to play it with our daughter soon. She’s had a good look at it though and is really into the theme!
