Colorful board game box for "Wobble King" by HABA, featuring playful illustrations of animals and a lion wearing a crown. The box highlights the game's theme of skill and balance, with a warning about small parts for children under 3 years. Suitable for 2-4 players aged 4 to 99.

Note: This is a short really early legacy review before I started posting longer form review in our Facebook Group.

Unlike many of the games I play, today we are actually playing a game designed for kids (crazy times). Therefore game 9 of the “Bailey Family Sorta Summer Board Game Bonanza” is “Wobble King” played by myself and Toby (4).

In short Wobble King is dead simple, quite good fun, an unusual take on a dexterity game and can be bought usually for fairly cheap (it’s one of those Haba games in that tell-tale box size that always goes around the “just over a tenner… but maybe under on sale mark”.

Essentially you lay out these small silver pillars and put the platform on them and then the king. You then take turns using the stick to pull out the pieces trying to not let the king fall over. You then stack those pieces on top making it potentially even more likely to slip on one side.

It’s really simple but it’s actually surprisingly good fun and also unusual in terms of what you are doing. the best way I can describe it is when you use something long (such as an empty tube of wrapping paper) to try and sweep a marble from under the sofa… made into a game. What really makes this game interesting is the fact you cannot see where the remaining pillars are.

You normally play best of 3 or 5 and it’s all over fairly fast.

Is it going to set the world on fire? No… no… but as a fun little dexterity game for little ones, it’s good fun.

Component quality is the usual Haba High quality mixed with the usual Haba lack of an insert.

You will know if you and your munchkins will like this or not probably already. It’s not going to get regular play in our house but it’s def good enough to stay in the collection.
