Note: This is a short really early legacy review before I started posting longer form review in our Facebook Group.
if you have played Pandemic then you know what’s going on here. ?The Hot Zone series are essentially smaller and shorter versions of the main game designed to take about 30 mins as opposed to 60-90 as the regular game. This also works extremely well with kids.
you randomly choose via cards where the infection starts (represented by cubes) and it becomes a race against time to eliminate the virus before it spreads out of control. you do this by moving around the map clearing cubes helped by special powers. Each turn however new cubes appear si you have to strategically clear as to not get overwhelmed.
It’s a great little strategy game, pretty cheap and just complex enough for my boys. Also as a cooperative game, you can help kids with their turns.
If you are looking for a decent cooperative game for slightly older kids this is a good start.
