As someone whose main background is in design, I can always appreciate a high-quality premium product and Omshanti, a beautiful dexterity game, has that in droves.
From the moment you open the really striking cardboard box and take out the velvet bag with the balls and the rolled up mat, Omshanti feels extremely premium and it certainly is.
The game itself is very simple and reminiscent of shuffleboard, where the idea is that you glide weighted balls that roll along the ground down the mat and try to get them ever increasingly into your opponent’s zone to move your counter further along to the final point.

It’s a really simple concept that works well and is an absolute joy to play with. With such a high level of qualit,y everything feels so nice to play. Dexterity games often fall into having elements of luck but this is the sort of dexterity game which is 100% skill, while equally not the most difficult once you get the hang of it.
Since this arrived, it has been a regular play in our household to the point where we’ve had little tournaments and the boys absolutely love playing it.
As well as being a really high premium product it doesn’t actually come with a massively premium price tag. Priced at £35 for what you get and for how plush everything feels, I think this is a very fair price. Should you drop the balls and accidentally damage one, replacements can be bought from the website which is always good to know.
Weirdly, my only slight gripe with it is that I love the game so much and it’s so much fun to play that I want more of this and hope that in the future this will expand into other types of games using this exact same layout such as golf style or pool and snooker.
I wholeheartedly recommend Omshanti not only to play with the family but also as an absolutely excellent Christmas present to give to an adult who potentially isn’t normally into playing tabletop games but might enjoy a fun dexterity game to play after dinner.
It is worth noting that currently the game is only available in the UK but I have spoken to the publishers who are looking at ways to bring it stateside and to the rest of the world so watch this space.
