The final game that we’re going to be looking at as part of Minecraft Week is Minecraft Labyrinth, a Minecraft-themed version of the classic game Labyrinth brand new out from Ravensburger.
This is very much the standard version of Labyrinth, which is a great game in itself—obviously Minecraft-themed. If you don’t already have a copy of Labyrinth and your kids are really into Minecraft, then this is probably a good version to get.

Labyrinth is a fairly simple game. You have all your characters on tiles in an ever-shifting maze, looking for objects which you need to navigate to in order to pick up on your turn. You take a tile from one side of the maze and slide it back in on the opposite side, thereby altering the shape of the maze. This allows your character—and potentially others—to move through it.
Each player has a set of cards showing the objects they need to find, and the aim is to be the first to collect all of them. Simple as that.
Labyrinth works really well for kids of all ages, and even if your kids aren’t fans of Minecraft, there are plenty of other themed versions out there. It’s also worth noting that there’s a legacy version of Labyrinth coming out next year, with really nice three-dimensional wall tiles—which I’m thoroughly looking forward to.

I really like Labyrinth, and I’ve always liked Labyrinth. It’s one of those childhood games that’s actually still good fun to play today, and the Minecraft version is really nice if your kids are particularly into Minecraft. One thing that is interesting is that it uses an old-school 1990s-style board game box shape. Even the insert has a very retro 90s feel, which is fun—even if it doesn’t stack very nicely on the shelf, which is always a problem with these shaped boxes.
Overall, Minecraft Labyrinth is a really nice reskin of the classic
game Labyrinth, and a solid addition if you have Minecraft fans in your life.
I hope you’ve found this week’s themed reviews useful—especially if your son or daughter is really into Minecraft. This isn’t something we’re going to be doing regularly, but I thought it would make a nice change to give a bit of focus to a theme every now and then.
