Jack(8.) was pretty tired this morning I think yesterday really took it out of him.
Without further ado Game 2 of the “Games that Jack(8.) and I played at the UKGE” is “Kugo”
Kugo is less of a game and more of a selection of blocks and tokens that you can use to make your own dexterity games.
Ten-pin bowling-style game
flick the dusk into the hole up a ramp
Flick off a wall and try and get close to the target.
It was kinda cool but both Jack and I were left with the feeling we could recreate this on our kitchen table with some 2p coins.
Full disclosure: I am a DT teacher hence many of these wooden “handmade” style games in terms of production values are easily seen through. What we have here is about £20ish worth of what felt like Ash made and finished to a decent standard. The discs are a pain to make and I wonder if they make them themselves or if they buy them in.
Either way, it’s all very lovely but we were both wanting more. Jack spends most of his spare time making up games and generally, they are more imaginative than what was obvious with this set.
having said that… again… the discs are nice but actually fairly heavy so if you flick them they kinda hurt your fingers and we were constantly told to do a “push” flick to ensure that doesn’t happen (which seems a sizeable flaw).
Sadly I never asked what the price of the 2 size sets they sold was (as I didn’t intend on buying)
Anyway, it’s fine but totally not necessary. I did actually end up buying a game that I could have made in my workshop for essentially free later in the show so don’t think that stops me
