Super quick one tonight of another game Toby(4) and I played while at Daddy’s work (I have one more in this “set” that wasn’t a hit I will put up tonight or tomorrow) and that is “Kluster.”
I have done “Kluster” before so sorry if you read my thoughts on it last year.
Kluster is simple, you each get a pile of super-strong magnets. You lay out the loop and then taking turns have to lay the magnets in the loop without attracting any others. If a magnet attracts another (or 5 if you are unlucky) you keep those and play continues.
Obviously the potential danger of magnets with young children aside this is a fantastic simple game we had loads of fun playing.
One thing I would say is having played this A LOT the surface you play on really alters the game. I would suggest a marathon duel featuring different locations. This can include: carpet, tiles, felt… and if you are feeling very spicy grass, flour, sand, underwater in the baths etc. The different surfaces make the magnets act differently which keeps the game fresh.
This is also a good example of a clearly non “14+” game.
Great, simple stuff and a game Toby is oddly good at.
