Junk Art

Note: This is a short really early legacy review before I started posting longer form review in our Facebook Group.

Game 3 of the “Bailey family Valentines Halfterm Board game mini-marathon!” is “Junk Art” played by myself Jack(6) and Toby(3)

Junk Art is a dexterity stacking game where you have to build sculptures out of 3D shapes to try and meet certain conditions.

The game starts with you randomly picking 3 cities for your art exhibition. Each city gives the round a certain rule to meet. Examples of this could be “build the tallest sculpture” or “keep adding until you drop a piece last one in wins”. The winner of each round gets points based on their position and these are added up after 3 rounds.

These rounds add a lot of depth and variety which is something not common in dexterity games. I really like this and while I still think “Catch the Moon” is my fave dexterity game this is a very close second.

The components are excellent. This version is wood and the pieces are chunky and very well made and the interaction between pieces has been very carefully thought out. It’s also a dexterity game you can improve at over time as you get to know what pieces fit well together and how to potentially plan out certain sculpture types.

the boys adored this game and it was a firm favourite of mine as well and one I 100% recommend.
