Today, as we head into the LAST WEEK of the Summer Games Fest, we are going to be looking at the Guinness World Records Card Game, a brand new trivia/memory card game released by Ravensburger based around the Guinness Book of World Records.
Essentially, the way the game plays is you look at a world record and read all of the information on the card. You then turn it over to see the questions. The team that just read the card says a number between one and ten and this corresponds to a question. The player or team then gets asked the question and they have to try and get the right answer as close as possible. You get more chips if you get it bang on or fewer chips if you are nearly right. Once all players have had a go you rotate round. You do this five times and then compare your points to see who wins.

There are some nice extra rules for younger players, including suggestions such as giving them more time to study the card as well as questions that are related to the pictures rather than the information on the cards.
Obviously, you would assume that the Guinness World Records Card Game is a trivia game but in realit,y it is actually more of a memory game with some fun trivia to learn along the way. Jack really enjoyed playing this with me, largely because he enjoys trivia and already has a number of Guinness World Records books.
The benefit of this one is you could play it in the car or pretty much anywhere, even without sitting right next to each other. This is a big benefit for a trivia/memory game and means you could quite easily get the whole family involved.

It comes with 56 cards, which means you will start seeing cards again reasonably soon. This is an inherent problem with most trivia games, but as it stands, there is definitely enough here for a decent number of games.
You will know if this is going to be something that interests you but the cards are really well made, the graphic design is nice, everything is well presented, it does not take up much space and it comes at a solid price.
