Dungeon Mayhem

Note: This is a short really early legacy review before I started posting longer form review in our Facebook Group.

As we approach half term the boys are excited to get back to playing some games 🙂

Dungeon Mayhem is a fairly simple card game set in the D&D world.

You each choose a deck that has the same basic ability across your cards (attack, shield, heal, extra card draw, extra card play) as well as some character specific abilities.

You start with 3 cards and on your turn you draw a card, and play a card against whoever you choose (or the persons next to you in a 4+ player game).

You have 10hp and when you lose them all you are out. Games are quick so losing doesn’t hit too hard.

The basics are easy to follow and Toby(3) understood what each card did (although didn’t always get the best strategy) and Jack(6) understood completely.

There needs to be an element of nicety as you can gang up on people (although it tended to be the boys on me). The boys absolutely loved it and it is def gonna be a firm fave.

It is well designed and from what we have played the characters are well balanced.

There are 3 version available. The base game comes with 4 characters, the expansion comes with 2 characters and the monster mayhem box comes with 6. The monster mayhem box also holds all the other sets. Not the base or momster mayhem box are both good to go but the expansion needs one of the other two.

Would def recommend as a perfect intro to competitive card games.
