game 1 of our “October Half-term Mini Marathon”. is “Pengo Jump” played by Jack(7), Toby(4) and myself.
It is a fairly simple dexterity game but one with a fair amount of strategy. The game starts with all of the penguins on islands on the far side. You then take an iceberg out of the bag and slide it on the water. You then can move a penguin onto another iceberg if it is touching with the idea to move the penguins forwards before the icebergs fall off of the edge (and the penguins).
You win the game by getting all of the penguins onto the iceberg and back onto the start.

It’s a simple game that is surprisingly difficult and the boys enjoyed it. There are also other rules involving seals that add more variety.
The cardboard components are fine but there were several times when a cardboard iceberg got stuck and we had to use an “illegal move” to unjam it. One of the icebergs already got a bend in it because you have to push fairly hard.
It’s a fun little game that’s a bit different but I’d only recommend it on sale around the £12 mark as the £19.99 RRP is a little overpriced in my opinion. Good but not outstanding.
