Note: This is a short really early legacy review before I started posting longer form review in our Facebook Group.
Ghost Blitz is a game that has been out since 2010 in Germany but has only received a full UK version more recently (although its language independent)
The concept is simple. There are 5 beautifully made wooden objects. The grey mouse, the white ghost, the blue book, the red chair and the green bottle.
You turn over a card and you then have to do 1 of 2 things.
If the correct colour and object (eg a red chair) appears on the card you have to pick up that object faster than everyone else.
If however there are no correct things on the card (eg a green book and a white mouse) you then have to pick up the one with neither matching object or colour (in this case the red chair).
My kids do not traditionally like speed games but there is something about Ghost Blitz that really hit the mark with the whole family.

I’m gonna say it now… this is a better game than dobble (spot it) and I think this largely comes down to the wonderful wooden objects in the game.
It’s super simple and Toby(3) enjoyed it as much as Katie(35) who was so enthralled she dragged Henry(3 months) along for moral support.
It’s also pretty cheap (12.99ish)
There is also a Ghost Blitz 2 and a Ghostblitz 5 to 12 (third game) that add extra objects and complexities but I have not played those (but will likely take the plunge).
I would recommend seeking out the newer big potato games version as it is identical to the previous one but comes in a smaller box.
One of the strongest recommendations I have ever given. If you like simple speed observation games this is one of the best.
