Matthew BaileyA really quick and simple one today, and that is Fart Bingo, which is basically exactly what it sounds like. Rather than your usual bingo where you pull out numbers, you pull out either animals or animal farts, and then you have to find them on your card and shout bingo.
Katie and I, as adults, actually really like bingo. Before having kids, we even used to go to bingo halls around the country. I always remember the time we won £500, and all the—let’s say—regulars looked at us like death as we walked away with the winnings. That said, bingo generally works really well with little kids as a family game. It is simple, quick, and easy to get into, and Fart Bingo hits that spot.
It is bingo, just with a silly theme that Henry especially found really funny. But do I recommend this over just getting a standard bingo set? I’m not quite sure. This company makes other similarly silly finger games—there’s actually Poo Bingo, which I think makes a bit more sense, as in reality most of these farts kind of just look like poop. But whatever, let’s just go with it.
Also, the act of getting a nice wheel and basket with the balls to roll out of adds a lovely tactile element to the game, which is fun in itself and obviously helps with number recognition even if that’s not the main point here.
All that said, as a fun little activity to do with young kids, this is silly, harmless fun. We played a couple of games and it definitely kept Henry occupied, and if your kids really like bingo and silly themes, this is not a bad shout.
